In order to breathe a fresh lease of life in its fight against the deadly disease which claims a victim every 3 minutes in Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society has launched the Daffodil Campaign.
The campaign is expected to flower into a full-fledged movement with the Society urging citizens of British Columbia to wear daffodil pins on April to 9 to help spread awareness about cancer and also express solidarity with its victims.
Proceeds from the sale of the pins along with other donations will go towards supporting cancer patients and funding cancer prevention research and related activities.
The Canadian Cancer Society via its various activities and strenuous programs and services such as Cancer Information Service, Cancer Connection, Camp Goodtimes, patient lodges throughout B. C. and the Volunteer Driver and Freemasons Cancer Car Program, ensures quality care to all sufferers of the incurable disease.
Volunteers will be there at the Driftwood Mall, Comox Mall, Quality Foods and Canada Safeway to sell daffodils on March 19 and 20, from between 10:30 to 4:30.
