The "Taxidermist" add-on for Heavy Rain is reported to have provided to those who preordered the PlayStation 3 game last month.

Sony posted Friday that the downloadable content will available to the unwashed masses on April 1 for $5.

This bit of DLC - apparently the first chapter of the upcoming series of bite-sized bits of Heavy Rain scenarios, takes place before the events of the game. Players follow reporter Madison Paige as she investigates the Origami Killer.

In his review of Heavy Rain, GameLife Editor Chris Kohler tagged the ambitious murder mystery from developer Quantic Dream "a successful experiment" that takes games directly in a new directions.

"When it's good", he said, "it's good in ways that traditional games rarely touch".
