The world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is revealed to update its present stores in Ohio introducing new looks and layouts by the end of 2010.
The retailer giant is reported to be in plans to remodel four Columbus-area stores this year as part of its renovation push, tagged as Project Impact, initiated to make stores highly organized, more cleaner and even more appealing to customers in a bid to boost its sales.
“Project Impact isn’t just about a fresh and inviting coat of paint and a new logo,” spokeswoman Tara Raddohl said in an e-mail. “We listened to our customers and expanded and improved the departments that are important to them, and featured those categories more prominently in our stores.”
Currently Bentonville, Ark.-based company’s store at a Taylor Road plaza is under renovation, while, stores in West Pointe Plaza and on Georgesville Road in Columbus and Winchester Boulevard in Canal Winchester are scheduled for the same.
The retailer owns 17 stores in Central Ohio, which are slated to be renovated by 2013. The company operates 8,400 stores, including Sam’s Club and international stores.
