Bullock has pulled out of the British premiere of her Oscar-winning movie The Blind Side, as reports in the US allege her husband, Jesse James, cheated on her with tattoo model Michelle Bombshell McGee. Jesse James issued a public admission of guilt this week for his poor verdict, after rumors of an affair began to show up.
Facebook, Twitter and even CNN.com quickly became swamped with remarks in support of Bullock, alternately skeptical that James could wander away from a woman like her and crushed that an obvious fairy tale romance, a love that seemed so evident at every awards, show this season might have a different conclusion than her fans would have hoped.
Regardless of being in the industry for more than a decade, Bullock has remained generally free of pessimistic media attention.
Bullock's not the type of person who runs about talking about her personal life. James doesn't seem to be the most pleasant character. When Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston ended their marriage, there was a similar amount of national skepticism, but the difference then was that Pitt himself had so many fans.
Actress Helen Hunt, who split from husband Hank Azaria just months after her 1998 win for As Good as it Gets, is yet another victim of such a case.
