Northwest Pipe wins supply order worth $7 millionWashington-based Northwest Pipe Company has secured a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Cableados Industriales SA de CV for a project in Baja California.

Under the arrangement, the company will supply approximately 15,000 feet of 54" steel pipe valued at approximately $7 million for an engineered and custom fabricated piping system.

The pipe will be used in the Tecate Hydroelectric Project, located in the Rancho Tecate area. CISA will build and operate the project for approximately two years.

The pipe is anticipated to be manufactured in the Company's Adelanto, California division with delivery scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2009.

Northwest Pipe Company, founded in 1966, manufactures and markets large-diameter, high-pressure steel pipeline systems for use in water infrastructure applications, primarily related to drinking water systems. The firm sells its products directly and through independent agents in North America.
