For selling more than 700,000 B. C. ecstasy pills, a Washington state man has been put behind bars for about 16 years.
Warren Taylor, 29, was sentenced along with his co-accused Canadian Gordon Sin, who was sentenced to five years in 2009.
U. S. District Judge James L. Robart sentenced Taylor and said, "This sentence should serve as a beacon that this type of behavior is not going to be allowed or tolerated."
There were evidences that established Taylor's role in being a major player in a conspiracy distributing ecstasy smuggled into the U. S. from Canada.
Sin was nabbed with 104,000 ecstasy pills In January 2007 and another 109,000 ecstasy pills and $81,000 in cash were found when agents later searched his Seattle apartment.
Ledgers that detailed the drug distribution and identified Taylor as a key player in the conspiracy were also found during the search. According to the ledgers, almost one million ecstasy pills during the course of the conspiracy were distributed.
Assistant United States Attorneys Kate Crisham and Roger Rogoff prosecuted the case.
