Ford Introduces Power Stroke Engine with Fuel Economy Feature

The new Power Stroke diesel engine designed and built by Ford is to be located in the chassis of the 2011 Super Duty.

Through the new 6.7-litre engine, Ford is going to be associated with Indianapolis for the first time. Ford's 6.4 liter engine faced complaints of lesser fuel economy. To rule out the issue, the company has now come up with the new diesel engine.

Apart from the fuel economy feature, the 6.7L V-8 diesel engine also provides 735 foot-pounds of torque and 390 horsepower to the Super Duty.

It has got a total weight of 11,068 kilograms and a payload of 2,958 kg.

Some other remarkable features of the new engine include an engine block made of compact graphite iron, an inboard exhaust plus an outboard intake architecture that balances that overall volume of the exhaust system. With this the engine remains away from excess heat. It also enhances noise, vibration and harshness.

When sent in for servicing, the new engine remains friendly for the workers.

The high-engine comes for $10,000 more than the cost of any standard gas engine.
