PepsiCo UK has revealed its 10 year tactic to make its food and drink products a lot healthier.
According to the plans of the company, it will target for 50% of PepsiCo's UK aromatic snacks, which would either be baked or would include good nutritional elements in it, for example fruits, vegetables, wholegrain or fiber. For now, only 10% savory products belong to this category, manufactured by the company.
In addition to this, PepsiCo UK would also put a cap of 160 calories on all single serve snacks that actually do not have nutritional factors. 65% carbonated soft drinks will be accounted for with sugar free alternatives.
The company also plans to manufacture 600 ml bottles around, with sugar free alternatives for the similar price as 500 mil bottles.
PepsiCo's £1.5bn products range involves the Pepsi, Walkers, Tropicana, Quaker and Copella brands. It has commenced to focus its investigation and development on products with beneficial nutrition.
Health Secretary Andy Burnham feels that it is a clear demonstration of the leadership needed from the food and drink industry to help in improving public health.
