27 year old Lisa Cochran lost her 7 day old son Derrik to the Infantino "SlingRider", a popular sling that was purchased by mothers everywhere, and she is not the only one. Many mothers from all over are openly blaming the sling for their babies' deaths.
On Wednesday, Infantino issued a recall of its two popular baby slings, the "SlingRider" and the "Wendy Bellissimo", while also offering customers replacement slings. But considering what has happened, it does not seem like anyone would want that sling around their infant anymore.
The San Diego, California-based firm has warned that customers should immediately stop using the recalled slings, but has refused to take any responsibility for any of the deaths that have already happened.
"Our company is comprised of moms, dads, sisters, aunts, uncles and grandparents and we care deeply about the quality and safety of our products. All of our products go through rigorous testing and we work closely with governmental agencies as well as other third-party testing organizations continually to ensure the safety of our products", said President Jack Vresics.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission sent out warnings earlier during the month as far as the use of certain baby slings went, stressing that it has managed to identify as many as 14 deaths which have these sling-type carriers behind them.
