According to reports, new guidelines in New Atkins Book will allow dieters to have more vegetables than ever. It aims to make the weight-loss program more effective.
Commonly known as the Atkins diet, a low-carbohydrate diet, which can afford a deluxe cheeseburger provided that it is served without the bun and fries, is refurbished in "New Atkins for a New You: The Ultimate Diet for Shedding Weight and Feeling Great".
The book, developed by Atkins Nutritionals, Inc., reuses some of the suggestions in what has become a diet industry first started off by 1972’s "Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution" by Dr. Robert Atkins, who died in 2003.
Dr. Eric Westman, one of the authors of the book and who is also an associate professor of medicine at Duke University, said, "The best way to describe this book is that it makes it easier to do the Atkins Diet than ever before".
He said that they have added a complete new element of flexibility and rephrased the Atkins Diet to take in all the updates in science.
The new edition puts more importance on receiving carbohydrates from vegetables, dealing with some of the early travails of starting the diet, and tips for sticking to the diet when traveling.
