According to the websites, yesterday it was seen that a damage of £300,000 was caused when Pagani Zonda, the most expensive car, crashed into a telegraph pole near Aberdeen, driven by Formula One legend Sir Jackie Stewart.
This car, worth £528,000 and capable of 220mph, was damaged in September. Aberdeen’s Press and journal reported that this accident happened at the test drive for the motorsport magazine.
The spokeswomen from the Flying Scott, who is in Melbourne, Australia said that they all knew about the incident, but the story wasn’t true. She also mentioned that even Sir Jackie knew about the accident but he wasn’t the one who was driving that car.
This story came to light when the car was sent to the supercar’s manufacturer base, at Modena in Italy.
One of the spokesmen for Aviva Insurance Company said that claim had been filed by a test driver and not the owner of the car and it was the biggest insurance payout for the repair of a private car in UK. He also mentioned that after looking at the car, which was badly damaged, they assumed that they could get the car repaired by shipping it across to Modena.
From the Press and Journal’s website, the story was removed yesterday.
