YouTube Outage Speculation Fiercely Denied by Google

YouTube owner, Google Inc., has stressed that an outage of the popular video-sharing website that happened on Thursday was all technical and not caused by some outside tampering.

"YouTube is up again following a technical issue which has now been resolve. We know how important YouTube is for people and apologize for any inconvenience the downtime may have caused", said a Google spokeswoman.

The outage only managed to remain for an hour. It happened, approximately, from 7 to 8 am ET.

A source from YouTube revealed that the outage was not a result of some kind of outside attack or in any way related to Google's recent move to cease the censoring of results in China. The fact that the outage has come a mere days after Google's announcement managed to stir various speculations online.

While YouTube was down, users could still gain access to individual videos, but the main home page of the site gave a "Http/1.1 Service Unavailable" message.

Complete details on the causes of the outage have not been discussed by Google, and as per the company's policy, it would not be happening.
