WIND Mobile Set to Launch Services in Ottawa

On Friday, the unknown wireless company's strategy for near-national coverage is said to be launched by Wind Mobile in Ottawa.

The launch is said to start off with double service booth in Blockbuster Video stores.

It has been reported that in the next coming weeks Wind Mobile is planning to add more locations in Blockbuster, Futureshop and Best Buy stores.

According to a spokesperson, on Friday the map for Ottawa would be publicized.

After the launch of service in Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton the company's blog stated, Vancouver launch is "getting closer every day."

Although they began with a rejection by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, the Central Government moved in and overruled the CRTC, making path for Wind to begin action.

Wind chairman Anthony Lacavera stated, "We're not concerned with the issue, we've got a lot of distribution methods in front of us and we're assessing them".

According to Industry analysts, Wind is aspiring to put up a national wireless network in order to vie with Bell, Rogers and Telus.
