Edmond North High School Participates in Oklahoma Robotics Competition
Oklahoma Robotics Competition

This weekend, Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, students from Edmond North High School including Chris Graff, a scholar, participated in a challenge wherein they were asked to create a robot which can kick a soccer ball playing in a field with barriers in the form of bumpers.

The students from Edmond North High School came in a team of four. They were given a period of six weeks to build the robot.

In the first round on Friday, their robot yielded four points, elevating the team to the semi-finals on Saturday. Graff’s team came out to be the only one out of the total 60 in the Oklahoma Regional Robotics Competition, this weekend.

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), is a non-profit organization which aims at motivating students to take part in science and technology programs.

Through the robotics competition, FIRST provided a platform to the students to learn team work thereby facing the pressure in a competition.

Some of the students when asked to share their experience at the competition said that they were too exhausted by the end of the day, yet they felt excited for the next round.
