After the entry of Google's Nexus One in market, it has been reported that the phone is suffering from a loss of sales. It has been found that Nexus One has not been able to grip its hold as the first 74 days witnessed very poor sales which can be viewed as sales in fractions as compared to the enormous popularity of iPhone and Droid.
Many reasons are being cited for this poor show, and the most prominent one is that the phones have not been availed through “brick and Motor store”.
The phone has to be purchased through Google. There is no easy accessibility for the phone as no stores display them even for customers who desire to have a look at the device before actually purchasing it. Not enough of the sets have been made available for first hand glance, even in the Silicon Valley.
It seems that unlike Apple and Motorola selling millions of phones per quarter, Google does not prefer to do the same. This unavailability is making it difficult for buyers, as physical contact is becoming nearly impossible with the Nexus.
Google needs to understand that brick-and-mortar stores contribute a lot in sales.
