Reports have revealed that a Perth woman who recently underwent a much talked about and controversial liver transplant for the second time, after her first transplanted organ failed due to repeated drug abuse, is in a very critical condition and "close to death" in a Singapore hospital.
It has been reported that 24-year-old mother of two, Claire Murray, is quite close to death after a surgery she underwent to remove clots near her heart. She started developing complications as soon as she received a live liver transplant about 2 weeks back. A part of her aunt's liver was used for the transplant.
A recent media report shared that Ms. Murray had "lost her battle", and doctors have informed her family that she has "too many blood clots" near her heart.
Ms. Murray had made headlines in Australia and all over the world after the Western Australian Government awarded her a two year interest free loan of $258,000 so that she can pay for her transplant surgery after a previous taxpayer-funded liver transplant failed because of her heroin addiction.
On Wednesday, Ms. Murray was in surgery for over 8 hours and has since been housed in the Intensive Care Unit.
