36% Increase in APAC Customer Base Reported by Salesforce.com

Official figures shared by the company have revealed that salesforce. com managed to add about 1,800 customers in the Asia Pacific area for its financial year which ended on 31 January, 2010.

This directly means that the vendor has now managed to bring its total customer base to some 7,000 establishments in the region, which is a 36% year-on-year hike.

"Asia Pacific was the fastest-growing region for salesforce. com globally in FY10", said Marc Benioff, Chairman and CEO.

The organizations added from across Asia Pacific include India-based AdGlobal360 and Bajaj Auto Finance, China's Aspire Business Counsel, Barracuda Networks, eBay Greater China and Light in the Box, South Korean firms Baush & Lomb and Hanjin Corporation and Singapore-based Ministry of Education.

Lee Thompson, salesforce. com's Senior Vice President for Corporate Sales, Asia Pacific, stressed that cloud computing has now managed to become a favorite among small and medium sized business mainly due to the urgent need for speed, agility and greater productivity at lower IT cost.

Salesforce. com is also confident that its latest social networking application, Salesforce Chatter, will be very well received the world over.
