The Government run air service in Australia has embraced Firemint's Flight Control in order to enhance the training requirements.
Air services Australia will be using the game edition of iPad in order to train the air traffic regulators. Air services Australia's director of public relations Michael Arbroath said, "Flight Control HD is quite popular amongst our air traffic controllers as a breaktime activity". It occurred to Air services Australia that taking control of computer planes is very much comparable to controlling big planes. The aim is not to let the planes collide.
The game is being used in Australia as a training tool and is being appreciated greatly as it is bringing out positive results. Once Flight Control HD comes up with the iPad in the current month, the activity will be pursued as a full training program.
The move has proven that games are effective models for practical applications. Different consoles are being used all over the world for different purposes like DS consoles are being used effectively in schools for teaching the children, Wiis are put to use in hospitals worldwide for the purpose of physical rehabilitation and back in 1980s, Battlezone fulfilled the training purpose of military.
