Flossing Tips for Healthier Teeth

It is recommended by doctors to use floss every day. Flossing helps to remove plaque and food particles from the spaces between the teeth. These are the places where the tooth brush doesn’t reach.

Floss helps in promoting healthy teeth and healthy gums. It saves our gums from getting a gum disease.

To use floss, the person must know the proper technique. Simple steps should be followed in front of the mirror when using floss. Doctors can also tell you the correct technique to floss.

After you get floss for yourself from the market, stand in front of the mirror and wind around 18 inches of floss around the middle finger of each hand. There should be 5 inches gap between your hands. On each end, the floss should be pinched between your thumb and index finger and 1 inch should be left in between.

The floss should be used in a saw motion between the teeth in C shape and then bringing it near the gum line. To clean the entire surface up and down motion should be followed. Each tooth should be flossed and then the teeth should be rinsed with water or mouth wash.

Floss should be done regularly and should be practiced in the right technique. It should not be wrapped around the fingers too tightly. When flossing for the first time the gums are likely to bleed and if the bleeding continues dentist should be seen immediately.
