ASUSTeK Computer Inc. has launched a new range of motherboards capable of supporting the forthcoming AMD® Phenom™ II X6 processors. Joe Hsieh, General Manager of ASUS Motherboard Business, shared that the ASUS M4 motherboard series is not only capable of supporting the six-core processors, but also has the potential to deliver the top level performance with its Core Unlocker feature.
“This has received notable recognition from many of the world’s top media organizations for delivering a phenomenal boost in performance”, he said. The company has announced that in order to enable the six-core CPU and attain maximum performance, the users will just have to update the BIOS of their existing M4 Series.

The feature-details of the upcoming six-core Phenom II X6 desktop processors have been provided already ahead of the scheduled launch later in the month. AMD had last month announced that it will ship the range of six-core desktop chips in Germany, explaining that the chips would be accessible from the second quarter, but it declined to provide any other details.
