China and Japan Seem to Have Forgiven Toyota

For all those who thought that Toyota would be hurt by the constant recalls which came one after the other over the recent months, here is a shocker - sales of the company have not suffered even one bit. In face, they have actually spiked, at least in China and Japan, if not anywhere else.

Two of the world's biggest automobile markets seem to have forgiven the manufacturer. And this is not all, even the second largest auto market of the world, the US, is happy with the company, with Toyota recording a 43% rise in sales over March of 2009.

In Japan and China, sales for the same month rose by 40% and 33%, respectively.

For some months now, Toyota has been plagued by recall after recall, and while many experts believed that this would hurt the automaker, the exact opposite has come as true.

For Japan, we can say that national pride has done the trick, but even China and the US seem to be alright with one of the world's most loved manufacturer of vehicles. The Japanese are known far and wide for the pride they take in their own creations, and it seems that they have the most difficult time admitting that something can actually go wrong with one of their home products.

Looks like Japan was showing the world that no matter what anyone thinks, Toyota is a local darling and always will be. The Japanese trust their local brands, and through increased buying of the company's products, they seem to be suggesting that Toyota can never be wrong.

Ok, that takes care of Japan. But what about China and the US then? Shouldn't they be protesting?

Looking at the scenario, we think it is perfectly safe to say that Toyota has managed to come out of the whole fiasco unscratched, something that has shocked and surprised everyone.
