Now that tablet mania is hitting the market and the consumers are willingly be a part of it, it has been planned by Dell and HP to withdraw their huge investments in 10-inch Netbooks and reconstruct investment strategies in AMD-based 11-inch devices which have been reporting of attracting higher profits. Though the news may be a rumor so far with no confirmation, but it is being seen as a fascinating idea due to the launch of iPad.
Most of the computer producers have shown their unwillingness with being in the Netbook space from many years. The reasons which are being attributable to the low interest is the low margins of profits in the netbook business and the not so fascinating specs of netbooks and the vicious pricing. Few laptops can also been seen in the market which have been replacing the Netbooks and offer more processing speed with high-powered dual-core ULV CPUs attached in them.
Now because of the launch of the iPad in the market, the Netbook manufactures have to come up with something that cannot be imitated and becomes a sole and important reason for the people to go for Netbooks even though if the pricing has to be brutal.
The iPad can serve as a threat to Netbooks or may also mark its end. Hence the manufacturers have to gear up to work for its existence.
