The statistics from the Prostate Cancer Society revealed that the death rate due to prostate cancer is 8% less on an average in Bristol then across the UK.
According to the data provided, the death rate due to prostate cancer has not reduced for several years, and every hour, a man dies from prostate cancer.
March was celebrated as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month all over UK.
John Miles , Chairman of Prostate Cancer Care, which is based in Southmead, says that all men, particularly those over 50 years of age should have regular PSA checks, the results of which may indicate if a patient may have prostate cancer.
Pelham Reilly, 62, who is suffering from prostate cancer, has decided to raise funds for the the Prostate Cancer Charity and support its Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. He has dyed his hair Blue and carries an eight by four foot banner with his car, where ever he goes.
By visiting the local Marks & Spencer store, where trolley tokens and pens will be on sale for a suggested £2 donation, people can support the cause.
