Old-Fashioned Candy in Demand For Easter

"Candy is for kids", owner of Olympia Candy in Strongsville, McGrath says. "But it keeps us young forever".

Olympia Candy is believed to still be a fashion statement for the youth even at the three-quarter-century benchmark. The store and candy factory is charmingly old fashioned and colorful, coupled with its array of caramel popcorn rabbits, eggs and chocolate baskets.

Many people are lured to purchase such lovely animals for the children.

McGrath revealed that the company manufactures around a dozen candies every 15 to 20 minutes, thanks to its intensive team of labor, adding that the fact pace it primarily due to its strong demand.

"They love these adorable things because they remind them of the past", says Tom Scheiman, owner of B. A. Sweetie Candy Co., on Brookpark Road in Cleveland, which has been treating peoples' sweet tooth since 1950.

Easter has allowed chocolate manufacturers to delight kids in a candy store for decades. This season witnesses contribution to 35 percent of Olympia's annual business.
