Wirral Family Demands for More Nursing Help at Home of Cancer Patients

The parents of a seven-year-old leukemia victim are demanding for supplementary nursing help at home for the families of cancer patients.

Owen Tomlinson, from Wallasey is undergoing a treatment for severe lymphoblastic leukemia, and his parents need to take him to Alder Hey for chemotherapy.

They state that if the nursing assistance was at home then it would have helped in a better way for the patient to recover. This is why they are supporting a campaign run by charity CLIC Sergeant to afford more nurses who are expert in their field of work.

The aid organization is keen on trying to raise £5m so that it can employ more nurses who would be able to go and nurse cancer patients in their houses.

Owen's mother Jane, who is working as a police officer said that in the beginning they felt very cruel when they would take their son for the treatment to hospital because they had wanted to just stay at home and get their son treated for his ailment.

The treatment included administering only an injection which could have been done at home.
