Hewlett-Packard’s forthcoming tablet PC may have the potential to give Apple’s iPad a run for its money.
It has been reported that the computer may facilitate video conferencing, host at least one camera module, assist Adobe Flash and incorporate removable SD memory cards. These features would differentiate the HP tablet computer the iPad.
These potential differences have been evinced in a 30-second video released by HP. The video elaborates the use of these and other functions the computer.
HP has not made an official announcement about the release date of the computer. It is expected that the computer will make its first appearance in the market sometime in 2010.
The apparent success of the iPad has raised the bar for prospective rivals who are attempting to carve a niche in the mushrooming tablet computer market.
Hewlett-Packard is thereby in the process of designing its own tablet PC in an effort to beat Apple’s iPad.
Phil McKinney, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Hewlett-Packard’s Personal Systems Group, evinced in the company’s blog, “We know that you expect to be able to capture and share digital content on your mobile devices”. Mc Kinney was alluding to the video conferencing facility that will be available in the HP’s Slate
