Apple’s iPad listing on eBay Surged Fivefold

Over the past week, it has been seen that Apple Inc. iPad listing on eBay Inc.’s Website has pitched fivefold.

It was told by San Jose, California based eBay that by April 3, the number of iPads on e-commerce rose to 2,600. Before the iPad went on sale, resellers who had pre-ordered the device started listing it on eBay.

eBay said that one of the eBay customers paid 10 times more the price for the iPad than usual. He paid $5,500, whereas the normal price of the iPad is $499. It was also seen that the maximum iPads were sold outside the US and now apple is planning to launch its products overseas later this month.

Last weekend, in front of the Apple store people lined up to purchase the iPad, in which you can read digital books, browse the web and watch movies. It was calculated that on the first day 300,000 iPads were sold.

On the Nasdaq Stock Market, Apple, located in Cupertino rose from $2.52 to $238.49. This year there was an increase by 13% in the shares whereas eBay’s shares increased by 13%.

Three new models of iPad are being sold by apple and the pricing of these versions would be available by the end of April.
