Kevin Rose Undertakes his New Role at Digg

will be taking over the position of Chairman and Chief Executive of Digg by replacing Jay Adelson. The information about Adelson’s voluntary resignation was given through his blog.

Adelson wrote. "After five years, forty million users, and an amazing ride, I've decided to step down as CEO of Digg. With the new Digg getting ready to launch, Digg Ads doing well, our sales force growing, our hiring ramping, and the company maturing well beyond its startup phase, I feel that now is the right time”.

He confirmed that he will continue to be associated with Digg as an advisor.

He took this firm decision in order to give shape to his new entrepreneurial ideas and confirmed that as the economy is showing some upward trend, this is the right time for the new companies to come into existence.

Digg has so far been able to capture 37.4 million users in Feb. 2010 which is comparatively more than Twitter. com

Adelson has been with Digg since 2004, has been a close associate of Rose. The two have worked day in day out in order to develop Digg. So far, Facebook and Twitter has stolen public eye from Digg and since then Digg is trying in every way to sustain itself in the market.
