Auckland Transition Agency Asks People to Use Organic Bins

From a report it has been seen that the Auckland Transition Agency is trying to reduce the rubbish under the new super city by asking the council to add organic bin to its weekly collection.

It has also been noted that, Auckland every year sends around 1.4 million tones of rubbish and around one third of organic to landfills.

It has been asked by the Waste Minimization Act to minimize its rubbish by one fifth by 2015.

I order to cut waste every household should have three bins that is the rubbish, recycling and the compost. From a private report released under the Official Information Act showed that from Franklin to Rodney a new set of bins could be delivered to the households and would be used by a single operator.

It was told by the PricewaterhouseCoopers, that the council could buy the infrastructure, or acquire it by legislation or settle partnerships with the waste companies.

The report suggested that, control must be taken by Super City of the waste from the private companies. By following a single system for the region waste could be cut and money could also be saved. However, in Christchurch and Timaru, a three bin system could be the best option.
