The satellite TV sector has reported another addition with the launch of ITV HD. With this the viwers, especially in UK, will be able to expand their choices as they are much more exposed to the high definition television era.
ITV HD has been launched on Sky TV and Freesat. As the world cup is going to head in June, in South Africa, the viewership via the high definition TVs is set to swell.
For the viewers associated with Freesat, the red button service for watching the programmes through the high definition television will go off.
In total, there are more than sixty four live matches being telecast between the BBC and ITV. All these matches will now be accessible for the viewers when they want to watch it in high definition medium.
Freeview has already started its marketing campaign for the HD service set-top boxes. However, the high pricing of the boxes has led the users think enough before opting for it.
The ITV HD started serving its first customers from April 2. Sky's first European broadcaster is going to introduce a 3D TV channel next month.
