Temasek Cites Firms to tap on S'pore's Equity Capital Market to Raise Funds

The Singapore state investment company Temasek Holdings revealed that companies should tap on Singapore's equity market in a bid to raise funds for new projects.

The investment firm is revealed to be in talks with India's GMR Infrastructure Ltd., planning to acquire stake in its energy unit, posted Wong Kim Yin, Temasek's Managing Director for investment.

A senior executive uncovered that the equity market is witnessed to be under-utilized and has suggested potential for assets to be divulged into business trusts in a view to rise additional funding.

Temasek's investment in GMR aims to concentrate on widening its exposure in India's domestic power market, Mr. Wong posted.

In addition, he posted that the firm was in discussions with several other Indian companies in relation to energy investments.
