It has been reported that, Digg will be pulling out its iFrame based content viewer, the DiggBar. This announcement was made on late Monday by the Digg founder Kevin Rose in a blog post. DiggBar had come to the forefront of controversy after its launch in the previous year.
According to Kevin Rose, the decision for the elimination comes because DiggBar was found to be inconsistent and it offered an unstable user experience. He also added that, the user experience that was offered by DiggBar was not good for the Internet.
Rose evinced that the company will in its lieu, choose to center its attention on browser extensions. He also claimed that these browser extensions had the probability of proffering features similar to those found in the DiggBar. He stated that these add-ons would be refurbished in a few months' time.
Rose also declared that besides the removal of DiggBar, Digg also plans to restart all domains that have been barred in the past.
The timing of the announcement is very strategic. It comes immediately after then CEO Jay Adelson resigned from the company, leaving the creator of the site, Kevin Rose in charge of the company.
