Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton top most-admired list

A USA Today/Gallup poll published on Friday shows that President-elect Barack Obama is the man the Americans admire most in the world. Leading the list of the most admired women is Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The poll, which questioned 1,008 adults, taken by landline and cell phone from December 12-14, has its margin of error as plus or minus 3 percent.
Ever since the Gallop poll began 1948, this is only the second time a president-elect has led the poll - the first being Dwight Eisenhower in 1952. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton has held the leading spot for 13 out of the past 16 years - now Obama's Secretary of State designate, she was also the most-admired woman as the first lady, and as the New York Senator.

Obama tops the list of the most admired men with 32 percent, followed by President George W. Bush in a distant second place with 5 percent; and Senator John McCain, the defeated Republican presidential candidate, in third place with 3 percent.

Three other well-known names tie for fourth spot among the most admired men, namely - Pope Benedict XVI, the Rev. Billy Graham and former president Bill Clinton.
Hillary Clinton is the most admired women with 20 percent; followed by Alaska Governor and Republican Party's vice presidential candidate in the second place with 11 percent; and Oprah Winfrey, the famous television talk show host as third with 8 percent.

Among the most admired women are also women, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in fourth spot; and Michelle Obama in the fifth place.
