Google Sued for Buzz, Violated Privacy Rights
Google Inc

A suit was filed against Google Inc., as it is claimed that its Buzz social- networking service violated the privacy rights of the people who are using the company’s Gmail service.

The lawmakers have requested an investigation into the matter to determine whether Buzz has made compromises with users’ privacy.

Buzz was introduced by Mountain View, California-based Google in the month of February. It displayed the customer’s contact to other users from Google Gmail e-mail accounts automatically. Though, Google has managed to modify the service, when the customers started complaining. The complaint has been filed in federal court in San Jose, California.

The lawsuit said, “Google has publicly admitted that its Buzz program presents privacy concerns, and Google has made several waves of modifications to the program. The changes do not go far enough and the error already caused damage because the Buzz program disclosed private user information the moment Google launched the service”.

Barry Feldman of New York has filed a case which seeks class action. He claimed that Google automatically activated the Buzz program from his e-mail account. According to the suit, Buzz showed his frequent e-mail contacts as well as information stored in his Google profile to other Gmail users.
