Men From Worcestershire Take up Sailing Challenge to Generate Money for Hospital

In an attempt to collect funds for the St. St Richard's Hospice in Worcester, three men from Worcestershire are get ready to sail 2,000 nautical miles around the coastline of the British Isles .

Adam Martyn-Smith, Mike Mockett and Clive Murray will be participating in the Great British RIB Rally. The Rally spreads over the span of 12 days. Participants will be required to sail in Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB). The event is slated to commence on June 12. The rally will start from Portland in Dorset and participants will be expected to sail around Great Britain and Ireland.

All three of the men will form one team. It is reported that there are 20 teams that have been lined up to participate in the event.

A RIB is a powerboat integrated with inflatable tubes. This increases the adaptability of the boat and making it fit for various types of conditions.

According to reports, Smith and his team will be undertaking the challenge in an eight-meter-long RIB.

Smith remarked, "I'm expecting it to be a real challenge but I am looking forward to the camaraderie, learning more about seamanship from experts and seeing some stunning coastline”.
