Mick Barrow and his son John had participated in an art project that was intended to portray how prostate cancer has an impact on the lives people. The pair will now see their story portrayed on the London stage this week.
The father and son had been were selected to feature in a movie intended to reveal how the relationships of 12 different couples were affected by the disease.
Earlier this week, the father-son duo was request to come to London to see the finished project make its first appearance on stage. The debut event was watched by the other 11 couples as well.
In September 2003, Mick Barrow was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since then, he has been making dedicated attempts at raising awareness about the disease. To raise money for the cause Barrow organized many fundraising activities, including a bungee jump and a pub quiz.
Barrow remarked about the movie, “I really enjoyed taking part in Couples with John. Not only did it make me realize how strong our relationship is, it helped me hit back at prostate cancer by raising awareness. It’s a unique and creative way of doing this”.
Barrow claims that the disease bought him closer to his son John.
