Obama and Congress to work together in Healthcare

President–elect Barack Obama and Congress will work jointly to revamp the healthcare system. Barack Obama has refused to produce a separate White House bill.

But the Obama team is determined to avoid the mistakes made in 1990s. They do not want to have a team which would work secretly on the healthcare schemes and produce a bulky proposal.

The new Secretary of Health in the Obama regime is the former US Senate majority leader, Tom Daschle, D-S.D. The new Secretary has already initiated a reach out to program to the Congress.

"The only way for this to work is to have both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue working hand-in-glove," Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., head of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, said in a statement.

Daschle prefers a low-key style. There is s great difference in his style  and that of his counterparts in the Clinton administration - Ira Magaziner and Donna Shalala. Ron Pollack, president of Families USA comments that Daschle maintains a congenial working relationship with his ex-colleagues.
