Ubisoft has begun to design Sam Fisher as a complete 'panther' for Splinter Cell Conviction, to move him away from his stealth-only past.
The company that has already disclosed that it wants Fisher to be a "predator", had initially designed the character with a feline-like movement.
The game's Production Manager, Andreane Meunier told the GameTrailers, "When Max, Beland Creative Director came on the project, he sold us on the idea of Sam being a predator, Same being a panther... he's not using the shadows to hide anymore, he's using it as a tool and as an asset".
He said that at some point, his animators came out and did animations of a cat-like, feline Sam Fisher that was on the whole a little too much. But it was that way that they discovered the real meaning of what they wished to do. Though they went too far-off to bring it back a little, but they ultimately got the essence of the predator that they desired.
In spite of Sam's new action-packed expedition, Ubisoft is interested to emphasize that the title can also be played through solely with slyness in mind, by means of the shadows to hide from foes as in preceding games.
But not by Michael Ironside, but by some important members of the Splinter Cell Conviction Development team.
