The meteorologists and allergists have confirmed that allergy sufferers are visiting the doctors’ offices in droves due to the huge amount of rainfall which has resulted in a large blast of pollen grains. Oak, hackberry and grass are some of the varieties of pollen grains flared up.
This spring season has brought out the worst pollen explosion since the previous five years. There has been an outburst of pollen due to the dry windy days during the rainy season.
Lower Colorado River Authority meteorologist Bob Rose said, “That oak trees that had been put under stress by two years of drought are now producing a lot of pollen in the wake of winter rains. Dry windy days between the rains have put more of the pollen into the air”.
The same situation could be seen in Mississippi, it has been reported that the pollen grains have concealed everything outside, though some relief was observed for a couple of days after the rain but the condition has been reversed to the same. According to Dr. Todd Adkins with the Mississippi Asthma and Allergy Clinic, the grass pollen is the culprit in Mississippi.
A longer allergy season is being expected by the allergy experts.
