Shoppers looking for discounts in after-Christmas sales

Shoppers in UK were looking for bargains a day after Christmas. Many retailers have cut the prices by up to 70 per cent. Nearly half million people looking for discounted items visited London’s West End.

The day after Christmas is usually ranked highest in terms of sales. Due to Economic Slowdown, the current year isn’t good. Some stores offered decent discounts while some of them offered almost same price as before Christmas.

Many stores had already reduced the prices due to Economic slowdown and lower sales. So, adding more discount wasn’t possible. Marks & Spencer had started sale on its website on December 25. Many products at Debenhams were available at a discount of 70 per cent.

Norman Black, Fenwick and John Lewis will start offering better deals from 27 December. People were more interested in gadgets and electronic items on discount stores.
