A mother has been sued by her 16 year old son for she logged on to his Facebook page and read about his private life. Denise New has been charged with harassment by her son, Lane, as she poked her nose in his personal matters.
The mother is being accused of changing the password on her son’s Facebook account, when he left his computer on, by mistake. She not only changed the password to his email so he fails to receive updates to his page, but also posted slanderous comments.
The incidence took place last month, followed by a complaint by the teenager with prosecutors in Arkansas. Lane is living with his grandmother, as his parents are divorced.
The 42 year old mother had become concerned when she read one of the entries made by her son on his Facebook page, in which he wrote that he drove home at 95mph after an argument with his girlfriend.
The mother clarified that she was performing her parental duties and that reading his Facebook page was similar to going through his bedroom.
The son altogether disagreed with what his mother said. He wrote in his complaint, “'Denise first hacked my Facebook and changed my password. She also changed the password to my e-mail so I could not change it. She posted things that involve slander and personal facts about my life”.
