Higher Risk of Fatal Stroke in Men in an Unhappy Union

From new studies it has been seen that men who are not happy with their married life have a 64% risk of a fatal stroke.

It was seen by the researchers at the Tel Aviv University that there was a connection between happiness in marriages and the likelihood that the man would die from a stroke.

The research was done after collecting data from 10,000 men who were civil servants. This research was presented in front of the experts at the American Stroke Association's International Conference.

The men who were unmarried had a higher risk of fatal stroke as compared to the men who were married. The same thing appeared when a comparison was made between men who were happy with their marriage and those who were unhappy with their marriage. It was seen that unhappy men had 64% higher risk of fatal stroke than happy married men.

"The association we've found adjusts for factors such as age, blood type and cholesterol levels. It's too bad we don't have that kind of information", said Prof. Goldbourt.
