The Croydon gig was cancelled last week when the 27 year old comedian Freddie Starr suffered from a heart attack. He was due to appear at Fairfield Halls last Friday, but was taken to a nearby hospital in Birmingham that Tuesday.

Starr is facing a triple heart bypass at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He shared it with The Sun that the attack occurred due to stress.

Earlier in the year 2008 and 2009, he cancelled a string of gigs when he underwent a knee operation. His agent revealed that he did a lot of twisting and bending on stage which harmed his knee. The comedian must take a six months rest to recover, cautioned the doctor.

Hi agent said, "We'll probably have to reschedule or cancel the whole tour .Freddie sounded pretty down - I think the whole thing is that he's worried about letting other people down".

A hospital source shared that he was looking very gaunt but he was still cracking jokes and making all the nurses laugh in the hospital.
