NHS Allows Muslim to Wear Long-Sleeved Uniforms Despite of Health Warning

It has been said, the Department of Health has permitted Muslim doctors and nurses to wear long sleeves for religious causes regardless of the danger of spreading lethal superbugs.

Warnings are being sent out by campaigners that the NHS is threatening lives.

This was because directives to each employee to be uncovered below the elbow began after long sleeves were held responsible for spreading MRSA.

The change took place after few female Muslims raised their voices, when they were compelled to uncover their arms on wards.

Also the Sikhs were allowed to wear their Kara bangles till it can be pushed up to the elbow while taking care of patients.

However, Derek Butler, Chairman of the MRSA Action UK, a group headed by respected microbiologist Hugh Pennington stated, “Anything such as jewellery, long sleeves and ties can harbor bacteria and transfer superbugs to patients. This is why they should be banned for all staff regardless of their religion”.

According to a Spokesman from the Department of Health, the by and large intention of the regulation, to make sure patients safety by hand hygiene is not biased by the added dress choices which have been recently recognized.
