Health experts claim that thousands of women who have had boob jobs over the last ten years should get cautious as their new breasts may explode.
A best-selling silicone product has been banned by the French Government, and the countries across the globe are advised to follow suit.
A France-based firm made Poly Implant Prothese, which has now gone into liquidation. An alert has been issued for about 45,000 UK who were fitted with the products, by the British Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
They are being requested by MHRA to contact their plastic surgeons, for removing their implants.
Dr Susanne Ludgate, from the MHRA, said, “Clinicians should not implant these devices and they should quarantine any stock. Patients who have concerns about their PIP silicone gel-filled breast implants should contact their breast implant surgeon”.
Models like Katie Price and Danielle Lloyd had much publicized boob jobs, which has lead to an alarming increase in plastic surgery in Britain. But, it is not sure that whether they had PIP implants.
Midland plastic surgeon Mr. Dalvi Humzah shared that women are worried over the French alert, as there has been an increase in women suffering from ruptures and, most of the cases are of PIP implants.
