A community group is hopeful of attracting funds for a Community Legal Centre. The objective of the group is to get maximum money for funding the pilot program to be held in the Community Legal Centre on the mid-north coast of NSW.
The move has been encouraged to bring up new centers amid Lismore and Newcastle.
Few talks were held between the advocacy group and General Robert McClelland, the Federal Attorney for the purpose of commencing a centre soon. The meeting took place in Port Macquarie. The spokesperson from the group was Catherine Peek.
Ms. Peek said, "It was a really positive meeting". She confirmed that a lot of advice and suggestions poured in from the General and one of the implementations was promised by him to be done to his department and that was too contribute a substantial amount o support the project.
Due to the increasing population, there is a need for more centre's to be set up in order to meet the demands of people who frequently seek advice on the financial matters. Opening up of the centre will lead to easy availability and more services could be provided smoothly to the people.
