UBS Expecting to Come Back to Profits: Good Times Ahead

UBS, the Swiss banking giant which was recently more than plague with problems, seems will soon be coming back to profits. At least that is what the bank itself is expecting. In a recent statement, UBS shared it is now expecting a first quarter profit of a minimum of 2.5 Billion Swiss Francs, or USD 2.36 Billion.

Looks like the struggling days of the Swiss banking sector are now finally over. During the global financial crisis, the banks were hurt a lot. While they did benefit in their own way, they had to deal with payment backdates, defaults and rapidly falling business and customers numbers.

Although UBS did make a profit in the last quarter as well, but the first quarter earnings that are being expected will be pretty huge, especially since the losses of the bank had been massive.

In addition to all the financial troubles, UBS also had to deal with a lot of public criticism, because like other financial institutions, it had been awarding high bonuses and paychecks to its executives. And this made the public question the extent of struggle that UBS is actually going through.

After being substantially hit by the global financial meltdown, the Swiss bank had to turn to Government aid, which made things even more tough for it. Now, not only was the bank dealing with its own issues, but it also had Government interference to take care of.

Now, however, everything is essentially a thing of the past it seems. Things are going to get better for UBS and whole banking sector on the whole. Good times are definitely ahead!
