The users of Vividwireless have reported that they have been receiving half the expected speed from the recently launched 4G ISP.
They shared in a blog post on ISP forum Whirlpool that they are suffering a sloth in the speed. According to them, the average speed available to them is 12.23 megabits per second.
These subscribers of Vividwireless have calculated the average speed after testing it on various servers on the Oz Broadband Speed Test. They witnessed speeds ranging from 230 kilobits per second (Kbps) to a 36.78Mbps. Out of the total 90 speed being recorded the average speed came out to be 12.23Mbps.
Adam Internet, a south Australian broadband service provider, had launched its own WiMAX service, last year. AdamMAX had used the 802.16d technology for delivering a maximum speed of 12Mbps while the users reportedly received an average speed of 11.7Mbps as per the distance from any access point.
Seven Network had launched the Vividwireless network last September, claiming to provide a maximum speed of 20MBps. However, the claims were withdrawn after a warning was released by Australian Competition and Consumer Commission which restricted the telcos and service providers from incorporating words and phrases like "maximum", "up to" or "peak network" in speed claims.
