Greek police use teargas in demos at Israeli embassy

Athens - Greek police battled with hundreds of protesters Monday staging a demonstration outside the Israeli embassy to protest against Israel's air strikes in the Gaza Strip.

Police had to fire teargas into the crowd, while a number of protesters sought to break through a police barricade outside the building. TV coverage showed demonstrators, many of them including Arabs living in Greece, hurling stones at police and chanting anti- Israel and anti-US slogans. (dpa)
