Money Cannot Always Solve Health Issu

It has been reported that the alarming concept when it comes to the provincial government's function in health-care delivery is that, funds does not always resolve the problems.

The thought is said to have come after last week's story about the refusal of Dr. Lizabeth Brydon, one of only two gynecologic oncologists in Regina, who is to take new patients only by April 1 due to excess workload.

Dr. Brydon told Pam Cowan of The Leader-Post, "I actually don't think that the way the system is structured in this province at this time allows anybody to do the job that needs to be done properly. And that is because we do not have a gynecologic women's cancer unit the way other provinces do".

It is said that there are lot of disturbing rudiments to Brydon's remarks, but the worst is that they can be useful to nearly all areas of the health system, regardless of the funds poured into it.

Brydon's story demonstrates the famished nature of the Health Ministry that always has gorged more than its share and now emerges to be taking a chunk of other departments' resources.

The outlook of satisfying its ravenous craving seems as remote as ever, a veracity manifest in Brydon's story and also in almost all other health problems that crops up.
